Looking for an online place to share your memories in a secure way?
People want to simply write down their thoughts and feelings to understand them more clearly, or to write a diary to keep a record of their personal memories and insights.
However, they are lacking spaces for that online as popular social media is becoming highly curated platforms. Social media can be intimidating and prevents people from posting anything they want.

Project Idea
A private platform so people can feel free to write their thoughts and memories privately. This mobile app lets users write in their diary, keep track of a “to do” list, have reminders, unload their thoughts aka “brain dump”, and keep track of what they are trying to accomplish.
Value Proposition (How Might We…)
How might we create a personal online space for individuals to keep memories and express their thoughts? Users can freely write their thoughts and memories by journaling and sharing photos with themselves.
User Research
I interviewed 6 people to understand their motivations, frustrations, and goals in order to design the best possible experience for users.
Five steps to conducting user research

Synthesis
Conduct
I prepared 12 questions for the 30min interview, being careful to avoid those that were stereotypical or made assumptions about the candidates' social media usage, interest in writing journals or diaries, or any other potentially limiting factor. During the conversation, I asked many follow up questions. My goal was to gain deeper insights into their experiences and perspectives. Throughout the interview, I maintained an open-minded approach.
Empathy Map
As I build and design a brand new app, empathizing with the user will help me understand who they are and what I need to focus on. Creating an empathy map will allow me to show future business stakeholders and core teams what users say, think, do, and feel. This will help establish a common understanding that can be used to create personas and make the information actionable. Ultimately, this will help us identify what matters to users on a deeper level.
Personas
Creating personas provides a human “face” to generate empathy for the persons represented by their demographics. After the interview I developed two users profiles summarizing their stories.
User Journey Map
Creating a user journey map after creating personas helps to bridge the gap between understanding user characteristics and their actual experience with the product or service. By mapping out the user journey, you can visualize the user's experience from start to finish, identify potential pain points or areas for improvement, and gain insights into their mindset and behavior at each stage.
*Please note that the user journey map provided is based on hypothetical scenarios and the information shared by the interviewer during our discussion. As the app is not yet published publicly, the user journey map serves as a theoretical representation of the expected user experience. It should be further validated through user research and testing once the app is launched to ensure its accuracy and effectiveness.
Information Architecture
The main mission of IA is to organize and maintain a useful and usable body of information, while its purpose is to help users understand; where there are, what they’ve found, what they can do, and what to expect.

Sketches
Wireframes
(Mobile / Laptop)
Once the IA and sketches were done I developed the wireframes to define the information hierarchy of the design. The wireframes make it easy to plan the layout of the app. I also tested out components of the product before i began designing.
